My Healthful Week

I've decided to take a more wholistic approach to my getting healthy. Here's what I came up with for the week.


I made a bunch of lunches in one day this week. My first recipes was chicken, soy beans, asparagus, avocado, lemon, salt and pepper (in the first 2 jars). If you like cold soy beans this would be great. I unfortunately don't. The second jar is seasoned black beans, cottage cheese and green peppers. Looks unappetizing but it good and filling. The last jar is cottage cheese, soybeans and salsa verde. The soy beans were much more tolerable to me with salsa.


This is just a better picture of the black beans & cottage cheese concoction.


Since I've started running more and longer I've had some trouble getting enough calories. I am also trying to find ways to up my protein. I decided to have breakfast for dinner and made myself a huge scramble with some sausage patty, 3 egg whites and one egg. I paired it with some V8 juice.


I've started running at dusk to beat the heat. One of the many perks is the sunset. I also get to come across quite a few deer with their fawns. It's been a really peaceful and destressing time for me. My other form of exercise has been Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown DVD. It's a good workout to counterbalance my cardio.


I've begun riding the near mile to work on my mother in laws old cruiser. It's been interesting so far weather wise but I've enjoyed it so far. I like having the quiet time in the morning by myself to start the day.


Sunday we were out in the mountains at my boyfriends family's land. We took a wonderful long hike. On the way home I picked flowers. I like having them around to remind me how wonderful and calming being in nature is.

I am trying to be healthy in all parts of my life. It seems to be working. This is the first time in 2 weeks I've lost weight (after a slight gain too). I only weigh myself once a week and have been hovering consistently around the same weight for a while, so maybe this is what I've needed to get through my plateau. I can see the difference in my body too - which honestly is what I want more than any number on the scale.

    I like seeing the different aspects of your life. I'm glad you kept food in there, though!! For me, it is very helpful seeing the day to day way others deal with this journey.

And right now, I'm working on making fitness become a happier place in my life, so, while I was disappointed to see your "bento" meals disappear, I am very happy to follow your current blogs.
