Like an idiot I had my alarm on today and set for 5:30 am. How dumb can I be on vacation on a Monday? Had it set yesterday for the Shooting match and out of habit I must have turned it on since 5:30 is my normal wake up time for work. Was so nice to reach over and turn it off and roll over- would have been nicer if it hadn't been turned on though.
Got a lot accomplished today. Loaded up all the old aluminum siding we had in the garage in the rafters on the trailer and brought to recycler- Also brought all the spent brass shells we have been collected. Got $48 for everything. Not bad- well worth it.
Went to radio shop and ordered an antenna tuner for Jim. they have to order it so will be a week or more. He was bummed, but it will come. Must learn patience Jim.
Got to work in the garage, removed stuff from the workbench and got out the reciprocating saw and Jim and I went into demolition mode. Got a good 10 feet or so taken out. This workbench was built to last and never move. The saw has been a lifesaver. As Jim got pieces out, I pounded all the nails down in the boards. The rest will come out on Tuesday as we expect rain in the AM. Taking this out will give us another 3 feet in depth in the garage. As it was the workbench was a catchall, and couldn't use it or reach it since bikes, snowblower and trailer were in front of it. We plan on hanging some shelves for stuff. But this is the hard part- getting the workbench out. Was so hard to store anything under it due to the supports under it at an angle, so it was just low enough that most things wouldn't fit under it. Should be much nicer once this is finished. I skipped Rifle leagues tonight- we were into it in the garage and without me Jim tends to lose motivation.......
We also took a very nice photographic copy stand to a local photo shop to put up for sale. They will even keep it for us so any interested parties can see it. They will put up a for sale poster will go up on their sale board. Asking $275 for it. Would do ebay, but it is big and bulky and heavy! At least for now it is out of sight and out o mind.
Spending the evening updating Model horse show points for one of my collector clubs listening to Jim spin the dial on his radio.
Day 3 of vacation a good one.
