It's Been Awhile

Monday, July 29, 2013

Thought I would just check in with my Lovelies because I haven't been able to blog for awhile. I switched my hours at work, and because of that, I can't get to work early and surf the 'net. Boo. Hiss.

All is well around these parts. Here's the latest...

My dad is awesome. His cancer, for the time being anyway, has been obliterated. He ended up losing 70+ pounds throughout the ordeal. Luckily, he had it to lose. The losing has since stopped. He's been eating better and is up and taking walks and shopping and enjoying life with his granddaughter :)

My niece, by the way, is 7 months old today and the cutest little booger I ever did see :)

I get to see her this Saturday. I'll be driving to Sacramento from Phoenix (800 miles/11-12 hrs, for those wondering) for my future sis-in-law's bridal shower. It's a 50s Housewife theme and is going to be off the hook. Because of my Fashion education, I offered to sew a couple dozen retro aprons for the ladies to wear at the shindig. That has been keeping me BUSY!!

'A' and I are doing well. Really well. Spending time together when we can. Doing family things. Doing couples things. Laughing a lot. Falling deeper. This is our royal dorkiness on the 1 year mark of our first date last week...

The job front is looking up. My references were *definitely* checked and I was told by an extremely credible source that I basically have the job and will probably hear something this week. So that's exciting. I've been working on this for almost 2 years, trying to promote, trying to climb the ladder. And although the process has been a lot slower than I hoped, it's on the horizon, almost close enough to touch. And that feels good.

Weightwise - I have been maintaining in the 171-174 lb range. Nutrition hasn't been the greatest, but it hasn't been horrible. I have been jogging in the mornings still, before it gets crazy hot. I need to step up some core/arm workouts to fit into my bridesmaid dress. I've still got about 2 1/2 months and am pretty confident I can pull it off.

Well, my break is over, so I guess I should get back to the old grindstone.

Chat soon, my dears!

Your little booger looks a lot like my little booger (GD). They even have the same eating assistance devise. (What are those things called?) Glad to hear family, relationship and job search are doing well. Can weight loss success be far behind?

emoticon to hear from you! Thanks for the update. Glad your dad is doing well!

Happy to hear about the job on the horizon. Sounds really really good! Happy for you and 'A'

Bridal shower sounds like so much fun! Want to see pictures!

And awesome job on getting outside and running before the heat starts. I need to do that myself!

For arm exercises...Jessica Smith has a YouTube Channel (all free stuff) you can subscribe to and she has a workout called Tank Top Arms...there may be some other bridal/bridesmaid workouts. I remember doing another one. She has great core workouts too. I love all her workouts. So you may want to check it out.

You will rock your bridesmaid dress! emoticon emoticon
