Proof that time moves too quickly!

Monday, July 29, 2013

My goodness, I logged in today and I look back and realize that it's been almost two months from my last blog and almost 6 weeks from my last interaction with any of my friends here. (head in my hand) UGH!

I'm sorry everyone....I have missed you all I promise! I started back up at school which has had it's ups and downs. My daughter had her dance and her 8th grade graduation. Summer started and she tells me that she is bisexual. YES, that last one took me out of this world with worry and even confusion. After absorbing the information for a good 24 to 48 hours Dad and I sat her down for a talk. We had to make sure that she knew no matter what her choice was now, or later in life that we would love her and support her. So to say that I've had my hands full....well as you can see that is all true. HAHAHA

It just proves that life always has a way of just jumping into the craziness at anytime and it is how we handle it and work through it all that makes us stronger. I know that the Lord would never deal me anything I could not handle and I'm grateful that I'm strong and have a strong husband to help me with everything. If not, I'm sure to have gone nuts by now!!

My working out was going great, I had to stop my 2nd round of the squat challenge as my right knee has started to hurt. Went to the doc and got an xray so now I'm just waiting on that to come back before I start PT. Now I do all my lower body stuff in the pool so there is no impact. I've been doing this really good arm workout and added in a "muffinless" workout by the same girl. Just a couple things I found on Pintrest. My goal is to do the upper body workouts every other day and so far I've been doing that for over a week now. My lower body I haven't been doing as much, but I have been dancing around my house more and YES I totally count that.

I'm going to download a lot of pictures and do a picture blog. I've done a color run, tried to do the electric run (it was cancelled due to lightning as we were waiting to be let out on the course!) and all the family fun pictures.

You know what I get from this blog? That you are a great mom. Not because of how you handled the situation (though I think you did a great job with that too) but because Sammy was able to come to you and talk to you about this. It is so hard for today's youth to feel accepted, and it's definitely hard for many of them to be able to talk to their parents. Parents often set such high expectations for their children (usually to make up for their own mistakes as a child) that the children feel forced to "live" a certain way or to act a certain way. Go you Kim, you ROCK as a mom and as a friend!!

You've raised your children right when they are comfortable with coming to you and talking to you about anything. I praise you for your acceptance and the interaction with your daughter. She's very lucky to have supportive parents.

You have a lot going on but sound like you are still working at it. Good job. You can do it.
