When I woke up this morning at 2 AM, I was really feeling the aftermath of all the training I did over the weekend. I ended up taking an Aleve so I could let my body get some rest.
This morning I made the decision that I was going to explicitly follow the directions given me by my trainer yesterday after our Get Up - Get Dirty cross training class. He told me that I really needed to take it easy today because, between the training from the Strong Man clinic, Get Up - Get Dirty, and the water aerobics class I took, I needed to give my muscles time to heal (heaven knows they feel shredded today). I have no question that Ross is correct!
I will spend my time at the Y warming up, stretching, rolling out, walking, and sitting in the hot tub to give my body the time it needs to recoup. I will also make sure I feed my body the things it needs to heal itself in the best way possible; some good Omega 3 foods, nice lean protein, and some good fruits and veggies for carbs and fiber.
