Revisiting my not-so-great choices these last few weeks

Hubby has expressed a slight dissatisfaction with the amount of time I'm NOT spending with him, which he claims is due to excessive exercise.

To be fair, I have been overdoing it, and I'm revisiting my plan slightly. But also to be fair, if he wouldn't cook with so much butter and serve pasta or potatoes with every meal, I wouldn't HAVE to work out so much. But either way, I'm revising.

I'm also going to have to revise the eating situation. July has been kind of half-on and half-off, with some days on the road that tracked way more calories than I expected. I'm starting to feel like old habits (of stuffing myself silly) are coming back. I'm going to have to lay down the law tonight and tell hubby that I have to have a salad and some fruit or veggies with our high-calorie dinners to keep me from eating so much. (The good news is that once I reach my goal weight, I'll probably be able to eat within my maintenance calorie range with no trouble.)

NO more alcohol for "celebrating" -- until there is something to actually celebrate. Like passing the ACE test!

I need to get back to the half-hour of strength and flexibility training, no matter what else happens during the day. I think I could do 30 minutes of stationary biking to help burn 300 calories daily, and that would leave me time for dance practice too. If I wait to do yoga until after the baby has gone to bed, I won't do it. Maybe I should do my strength training as soon as I get home? Or before I head out to run, or before my practice? I have to do yoga after my practice because if I wait, my muscles cramp up, and it always feels SOOOO good to run and then stretch.

I know the Couch to 5K thing is only supposed to be 3 times a week, but I'm wondering if I can't just repeat the 3rd program for a 4th day. I really really miss running when I'm not doing it, and if it's only 45 minutes or so ... Well, let's wait for September to see about that.

August is a slow month for dance, but a busy month for me, as I have a wedding, a bridal shower, a 5K, and Darling Son starts back into Kindermusik, which means Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday afternoons and maybe Thursdays are going to be full and busy. I'd like to go back to international dance class for at least a couple of weeks while I'm not teaching on Thursdays. I can take DS, especially if Mom comes with.

So anyway, today is Monday and a new week starts, where I can start over with my "gold star" program, and hopefully actually finish it this week. I'm going to double the amount of water I drink (I swear alcohol makes me retain water) and eat as low on the food chain as I can, in the hopes that I can get my 145 pound prize this weekend. :)

    Good luck and good planning to lay down the law. emoticon If you fill up half the plate with salad and 1/4 with another veggie or fruit and a 1/4 with the pasta, you will do great!!
