Missing dad... my iconic pic of him and the story of his ministry

Sunday, July 28, 2013

Dad passed away Thursday - I was holding his hand. and had been by his side for almost 9 hours when he went home to be with Jesus.

My dad was a fisherman all of his life. He first had a love for fishing for fish, later in his life he became a fisher of men.
We will never know how many he led to the Lord, as he had a tape ministry - he shared his love of the Lord by giving away tapes that explained God's love and salvation through Jesus. He also gave away bumper stickers and salvation cards.

On his last day on this earth - dad was to have his first ministry day at Medilodge in Yale. Dad was unconcious that day, but people were sharing a movie, scripture and prayer of dad's choosing. A kind man followed through for dad's ministry and came to share the "good news" - it was the ONLY 30 seconds that my dad woke up for the entire 9 hours I was by his side.

My dad began his ministry in 1992 when he and I petitioned for TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) to be broadcast in our viewing area. Dad and I traveled to every church within our viewing area and drew up petitions for our local comcast station to offer the christian station.
We did get TBN in our viewing area within a short period of time, but do not recall how much time.

At any rate - I miss and Love him so very much!

Today is going to be hard, Monday harder.
But dad is going to have his 21 gun salute!

See you in the morning dad... (a Christian saying for seeing a person who has passed to be with Jesus - the morning represents resurrection morning)

Thank you for your support during this time.
I will be back this week, I just do not know when.
Jean
