Sultry Saturday

Saturday, July 27, 2013

Well, my day didn't go anywhere I expected.... I started crocheting on that baby blanket, when the phone rang. My niece was at a garage sale on the next street and told me she had chunky yarn, so I got dressed and walked over. I got,,,, are you ready for this.....sitting please........about 40 balls of yarn.... some even 100% wool, for $8.25.....Am I going to be busy or what? Came home and sorted it.... 14 gray, 12 navy and then some various... Now, the problem is going to be having a place to put it so I can see it....

But the lady also showed us hats she makes... and sells for $25 each... now, we're talking. I gave away lots and lots last winter, and have a bag full of stuff made now to "give away", plus the hat and dress I gave my sis and the baby blanket I am just about done to give away too. To sell them for $25 would be so much better. I googled and I found a Spiderman hat and spent the whole afternoon trying to figure it out from the tutorial.... still not done, but let me tell you, I hate "hdc's" . But it was cool how she did the web effect, so I did learn that, almost finished it too, just hard working on black in the dark....

Dh was driving me crazy so I left him to make goulash for supper and Buddy and I went for a brisk walk. It had teased all day it was going to rain, and it looked very very close, so I didn't go far, but we were probably out 45 min in 2 different directions - just in case....though why should I really worry if I get wet.

I couldn't be bothered to measure and list all the ingredients I put in my goulash, so I just took one listed on SP, but I know the pasta in it was making me lose control, not something I have control of yet. But celebrate that I walked when I would normally have been emotionally eating... and of course, I felt a whole bunch better having rain yet, but it's very windy and cooled off.

Thank you to everyone following my blog and being supportive of this journey, I offer my support to each and every one of you too... Continued success on each of your journeys as well.

So let's rejoice with those who rejoice..... and remember to celebrate your successes.....

It's great that you scored on the yarn. I know how much you make things. I scored a little last weekend - about 18 skeins for $1.00! I got the feeling that the lady was selling it for someone else and had no idea what to charge for it. I found the yard sale while I was out on my walk. On a hunch, I had put some money in my pocket. The sale didn't even have any signs on any corners. I wish I lived closer to you so you could show me how to read patterns and make things. I do well on things like scarves and blankets, but struggle with everything else./

It's always a blessing to find deals like the one you got with the yarn. I quilt so when I find pieces of material I'm in seventh heaven emoticon Have a great day ~ Donna

The yarn sounds wonderful, and you made me want to knit despite the heat! :)

Hope the rest of your weekend is all you want it to be.

Ok, Sultry Saturday Lila, just crocheting up a storm. Way to go on getting that yarn for a good deal!

All my blankets are gifts. Still since you are so busy, selling them would be a nice sideline!

I had pasta for dinner too!

Sweet dreams! emoticon mm emoticon emoticon
