A Rainy Ride...

Saturday, July 27, 2013

Yes, I rode in that crazy rain this morning. Instead of wearing my poncho with a belt, I decided to use a large trash bag with cut out holes, figuring that it would not blow as much as my poncho...not that brilliant of an idea...I still got plenty wet but I rode 6.3 miles. It wasn't all that chilly, but I did keep my speed down... did not need the wind chill factor...haha...ANYway...after I got back I took a friend & her dog to the vet...she might have to have her dog put down...so sad. At the vet's there was a family there w/ their big ole sheepdog...his name was Bubba & he was 13 & had lots of health issues. It was so sad...I cried w/ the Mom & gave her some Kleenex & then I asked if she wanted me to take a picture of them with Bubba. She was thrilled that I had thought of doing that & they sadly posed with their beloved Bubba. I gave her a big hug right before they led Bubba away...it was a tough moment. How quickly our lives can change...whether it is a family member, close friend or a pet...when it all comes to an end, it is sad. One of my favorite sayings is "Live like there is no tomorrow." Life is short & we should not waste any moments...Thanks again to all my wonderful SP friends...have a lovely day...Take care...

You were very kind and probably made the family's day by your lovely gesture. Life does indeed change and not always with notice. It can happen in an instant. Have a blessed day tomorrow.

Good for you for not letting the rain keep you from getting a ride in! That is sad about that dog and very nice of you to help out.

You sure are a determined lady Janey. I am a wuss--don't exercise in the rain. LOL You are also a very caring, wonderful person. Not many would have thought of taking a picture of the family plus their beloved pet or had the compassion to cry with them. I know how hard a decision it is to let a beloved pet got to heaven. I so agree, don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today. (((HUGS)))
