Morning fog

No, not the weather. I'm talking about between my ears. Waiting for the coffee to work its magic.

It was quite a work week. Thursday we had to do annual "compliance training." This involves reading all the policies on various areas of healthcare business, many of which have absolutely nothing to do with our job functions in my office. Can you say "Snoozeville?" Then yesterday our printers all quit early for the weekend. One flatly refused to work, and the other SAID it was printing, then would cancel your print request. Since just about everything I needed to do involved printing, it made for a rather unproductive afternoon. I found bits and pieces to do, but there's a lot to catch up on Monday. I've never worked in an office that had so many printing issues. Periodically you'll try to print something and the system says you haven't designated a printer -- even though you printed something thirty seconds ago. It will also say it never heard of the printer you use every day (this one involves completely rebooting to get it to recognize the printer). I have no clue why it does any of this.

One wonderful thing did happen. Without going into detail, my middle niece in PA got angry at me and unfriended me on Facebook. I said something to my sister about it (there's some kind of family issue with this niece and her whole family and I accidentally stepped into it). Well, I ended up getting a phone call from my other two nieces! The oldest is married, and the youngest is spending the summer with her and her husband. The oldest called, but the youngest actually wrestled the phone away from her to talk to me! (I guess I'm not going to be starting any back-alley scraps with her.) We ended up talking for well over half an hour. It was just what I needed.

Deep sigh...having coffee "with" Bobby right now, and I'm about to go make breakfast. Later I need to do a few chores slowly. Very few. Very slowly. But I do need to do them. I love having the whole day with no deadlines!
