Lazy Day

Saturday, July 27, 2013

I worked late last night -- yes, even on a Friday -- in order to clear my desk of a couple urgent problems and be able to kick back today.

So far:

Laundry well underway;
Globe and Mail read;
Did a little cleaning in the kitchen;
Installed some netting for my morning glories (and untangled them from the cosmos), pulled a few weeds and deadheaded some geraniums;
Made a fresh pot of gazpacho which is chilling in the fridge.
Loved my fresh raspberries, blackberries and blueberries for breakfast.

Next up:

A leisurely bath in my claw foot tub;
Library;
A bit of shopping;
Groceries;
Time on the verandah with Charlie and a latte, watching for the peregrine falcons which have been exceptionally noisy this morning.

A day off from the gym won't hurt: I've been there 14 out of the past 15 weekdays at 5:30 a.m. and played several games of golf too. Golf tomorrow too . . .

We need our weekends, don't we?

    Enjoy the day.
And when you get a chance, maybe you could share your recipe for gazpacho. It's a real favorite of mine.

And thanks, too, for your advice. In spite of my usual unwillingness to do so -- I AM planning more for this week.

    Yes we do - and BTW - your 'lazy' day sounds super productive to me...

    I agree with all the previous comments that your "lazy" day would be classified as busy and productive for the average person.

    While you will be "busy" today, I totally understand the JOY of being able to do the things you need to do at a relaxed pace. Have a wonderful, (not-so-) lazy day!

    Wow busy lazy day but very enjoyable. I can feel the spring in your step as you move from one thing to another with a smile on your face. You truly deserve this pleasurable day.

    By your standards, today is my lazy day too! Doing laundry now.
Was hoping to get to the gym, but it doesn't look like I'll make the class I was hoping to.

    You are more productive on a "lazy day" than most people are working full blast!! Enjoy that bath, shopping, library and latte. Sounds great!
