Friday-MRI results and Masala Banghra!

Friday, July 26, 2013

Well, I have torn cartilage, and a messed up anterior and posterior lateral meniscus. so there will be surgery on August 28. I tried to schedule it earlier but I will be on crutches for at least three days and out of commission for about a month in terms of exercise. I brought home my crutches today. My first pair.....

Yes, I am very bummed but trying to keep it in perspective. If I didn't want, no, need, to dance so much. I could probably get along without the surgery. I can trade one month for being able to dance without pain. My plan is to step up my workouts so I am in great shape before surgery. I will concentrate on strength training with an emphasis on my legs..

Since I am still allowed to dance until surgery, I took Zumba in the morning and then the special Masala Bangrha class this evening. Lots of fun and there are pictures!

Can you find me?

Jenn getting ready to teach and Billie Jo tying her shoelaces!

Dancing up a storm..

See I was there!!

Sweet dreams... emoticon

Ok, so what is that other thing? I have had 2 invites to go to line dance classes starting in Sept...hope it doesn't bother my knee. Unless I do something out of the ordinary, It's usually just fine....

Yes, busily crocheting away, finished baby blanket, and working on a hat for Mom to match... been busy cooking, so now gotta decide what to do, and at this moment, a nap would sound so good, but I can't sleep during the day, so you have one for me.

Glad you know what is wrong and can get the surgery over with so quickly, so dance your little heart out till you forced to have a rest!!! emoticon

What a shame about your mri results--will Dr. Silver be your surgeon? My knee is not pain free but most of the time is ok; you know I too have a torn meniscus but he did not think surgery was indicated. Perhaps yours is more extensive. But you have a good plan in doing alternative workouts until you are healed. I went through the same thing years ago with stress fractures when I was heavily into running--I biked and did other cardio workouts and did not gain any weight. Good luck!

Looks like everyone is enjoying themselves and having a great time. Good luck as you prepare for your surgery. I have added you to my prayer list as well as to the prayer chains of our local churches. Will continue prayers for you and your medical team as well as a fast and complete recovery.
    Blessings and hugs,
