It's That Time of Year Again . . .

Zucchini is as zucchini does, wise gardeners say its so
So if you grow this viney squash, there's something you should know.
You can fry it, make it a bread, even make it taste like apple pie.
Put it into muffins, make a lasagna, even make it into french fries.
But just when you think you're all done, no more recipes to try
Someone invents a new one that you "just gotta try."
So, out to the garden, to get some more, a countin' as you go
One for the mailman, one for Suzie and don't forget Uncle Joe
You'll see those folks, and they turn around cause you they just now spied
So wave that zucchini, increase your pace and yell, "you can run, but you can't hide!"

Grandson came through the surgery well. The plate and screws will probably be taken out in about two months DS said. He is using a sling to help hold everything in place. He is in pain and told me last night that he was really crying when he woke up. His Mom bought a new game for him to play to keep him busy. It seemed to be working last night.

We still have a lot of outside and inside work to get done before cold weather sets in. The heat was too unbearable to do much before, but now things are much better. Hoping and praying for time and strength to get it all done!

Great that dgs is healing. Will pray it is a quick recovery.

I love zuchinni. I make chips (sliced thin), lay them on a baking sheet, spray with olive oil mist then top with parm and spices. It doesn't take long to bake them. Such a healthy treat.

Have a great week!

Lol, gotta love those zucchini. i try to pick them while they are small, but still have lots to give away. The darn things have become a staple in our diet and I even look for them in the store in the winter.

Glad to hear that your grandson's surgery went well. Hope the poor little guy is doing better pain-wise.

Loved your little ditty - isn't it the truth! Glad grandson did OK - sorry he is pain. Sad to think that it is getting to be that time of year to get things done before cold weather sets in!

Hee Hee Hee...zucchini! Amazing how one day you are waiting for the first one of the season to get big enough to pick (Sunday)...and then next thing you know the fridge is full of them (Friday).
I swear if you watch them long enough in the garden you can actually see them grow right before your very eyes!

Great news on your grandson!
