Another Day, Another Dip in the Pool

Friday, July 26, 2013

So, I continue my spark streak of posting blog entries to no real purpose. But, I did have a dip in the pool today, despite the creeping exhaustion. Now, I'm sore and tired. And I really need to eat something. But, alas, I have no energy.

Still, I suppose I must keep at it. For the good of my joints.

I've read a few of your recent blogs. I don't usually surf the community (exhibit A; my scrawny friend list), but your writing drew me in. You are obviously very intelligent and articulate. Fibro is not for weenies. I don't have it but was tested for it once and did my research while awaiting results. Anyway...... I feel from your writing that you are sooooo close to something, like it's on the tip of your fingers.

I'm a very practical person (Engineer type), so with the facts I see you struggling with, I offer the following. The tip is free and probably worth what you paid.

Great you have a handle as to when you're "up" and when you're "down". Use the former to invest in the latter - even if it means giving up some ideals. If you struggle with breakfast, make it the day (or days) before at a higher energy time. Oat bran, oatmeal, bran muffins, etc., can be cooked ahead of time - several days worth - refrigerated, and nuked when you need it. My recent favorite is "egg cups" from spark recipes. I gave up my ideal of fresh-cooked eggs in exchange for a super quick, portable, healthy breakfast (I'm also loving the fiber mini cakes from Trader Joe's, but they're a little spendy $$).

The extra time gained is nothing compared to the reprieve from scolding oneself.

Looking forward to reading more.
