Aspire to Inspire BSG Week 4 Sunflowers Blog-" Favorite Summer Childhood Memories"

Friday, July 26, 2013

My favorite summertime memory from childhood are the times our family would go to the "OLD MILL STATE PARK" It was a place to picnic, swim, play in playground with others, and often cousins of families who would join us. We would go on walks through various places in the park, watch adults play Horseshoes, swim, and of course eat plenty of homemade potato salad, fried chicken, fruit salad, hot dishes, and lots of other great food that our families would bring. Gosh, we would have so much fun, and always look forward to those days we would go there. On the way home, we would always stop at the DQ, and have a DQ cone. It was a wonderful memory, and one that will remain in my mind and heart forever.

Your blog here made me remember times my family would go water skiing with our boat on a lake here in WI. I actually got our family cooler from my mother's estate auction that we used all the time. It's one of those indestructible Coleman coolers...metal. Those were happy times. Thank you for posting.

It is always helpful to remember particularly wonderful times during our journey here. Positive memories are the best way to stay positive now. I enjoyed reading about how you and your family had this special time together at the park. It brings back some very fond childhood memories of my own. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Wonderful memories. My favorite summer time memories are of times at our house on Dickinson Bay, particularly when all the family friends came for the day.

Thank you for this memory. Some of my favorite memories are of my Dad singing to me with his guitar. It was a very special time. Before I was born he was a country music singer and did live radio shows across the country. When I was born, he quit that life to be a part of my life. From that point on he did his singing for the Lord as a song leader and he taught me to sing and we sang together. Your story made me want to share this. Thank you for your blog. Have a blessed weekend. Judi
