Day 73.... 30 lbs down!

Okay... so it took 37 days to lose the last 10 lbs... that's not good enough for me... but it's an amazing achievement. I am not exactly sure how many pounds is one dress size for me... but I know 30 lbs has got to be at least 1 lol! So today, after I'm done catching up on the household laundry and finishing my room so I can follow through with my plan of putting all my workout stuff in my room and working out before bed each night... I'm going to try on the next bag of clothes. I was partially in XL... but mostly 1x and some 2x. I'm curious to see what clothes I will fit into today :D

I have to reflect over the last 2 months... I had a goal when I lost the first 20 lbs in one month that I would lose more than that the next month... and I failed that goal. Why? Because I screwed off more this last month. I had several days of not enough water, not enough food, and a couple days of over eating. I had several days of not enough sleep. This all plays a factor.

So for the next 30 days... my goal is 20 lbs. This is what I will be doing:

*Striving for at least 7.5 hours of sleep a night.
*Drinking half my body weight in ounces of water (currently 121 ounces/day)
*Eating around 1000 calories of lean protein, veggies, fruit, whole grains, and a limited amount of healthy fats and dairy. (I can eat cheese like something fierce!)
*Getting at least 15 minutes of physical fitness a day and at least 60 minutes 3x a day.
*Taking at least 15 minutes a day to myself to reflect, calm down if needed, and remind myself daily why I'm doing what I'm doing and what my goals are.

I may mess up sometimes... but I am human and not perfect. I will achieve this and I will do it in less time than I did the first time around. I lost 101 lbs in 18 months on and off last time. I am 242 right now. My goal is 173 to make it to the 100 lb mark... but realistically, I would like to strive for 160. I have 82 lbs to go to meet that goal. If I lose 10 lbs per month, that's 8 months... putting me at the end of March. BUT... if I can stay focused and lose 15 lbs per month... that's half way between my trying really hard month and just trying month... that's 5.5 months... putting me around the new year. TOTALLY REALISTIC!!

So my goal is to lose this by the end of the year... make the last year of being unhealthy this year.

So to review goals I've posted before... since 2013 will be my last unhealthy year... what's in store for 2014 and beyond...

Michigan Boot Camp... before my 31st birthday (8-21-14).

National Guard... enlist before my 32nd birthday (8-21-15).

Tough Mudder, Warrior Dash, or a similar event... a hardcore obstacle course... before my 33rd birthday (8-21-16).

Become a Certified Personal Trainer by my 34th birthday (8-21-17).

Open my own family fitness center by my 37th birthday (8-21-20).

My final goal... my dream... my own individual and family enrichment camp. This will completed by my 40th birthday (8-21-23).

But... back to my short term goals... my goals for the next year... I want to participate in at least 3-5 fun races and 5ks. I want to get my children involved in a healthy lifestyle and combat what my daughter's dad promotes at his house (junk food heaven). I want my girls to feel good about themselves inside and out. I want my son to avoid the chunkiness that runs in both sides of his families.

Totally realistic... Totally doable... Totally me :)

    Elsat... thanks! With me (and others I've helped), it's not just 1000 calories... it's what makes up those 1000 calories. I don't eat junk. The calories I consume consist of lean meats, healthy whole grains, green veggies, dairy, fruit, and a small amount of fat. All I drink is water too.

    When I do notice I've hit a plateau, I actually switch my foods up and eat a little more to give my body that push. Normally it works. I haven't came across a time that didn't .... yet.

    I love to see your long term goals. That is awesome!! Is 1000 calories enough for you? Just wondering. If weight loss plateaus don't forget that sometimes it is not enough calories. You are doing awesome!!
