Yesterday was a wonderfully beautiful weather day. The sun was shining, the temperatures were more early-fall than late-July, and I just knew I had to get outside. I would say that I should get a GOLD STAR for yesterday! My coworker and I went on an hour long walk at lunch and it was SO hard to come back inside. I DEFINITELY go farther and harder outside. The treadmill always makes me feel chained and makes time drag. There is something about the sun and fresh air that just gets me going! I came home and did two types of squats, two types of lunges, and calf raises. It was so nice out that I decided BF and I were going to eat dinner on the porch. I made us salads with gluten free veggie burgers on them, and we split a zucchini pizza. YES – I FINALLY got the BF to eat a zucchini pizza and he inhaled it! The first two times I made them, he kind of stood there like “uhhhhh” and wouldn’t try it, and guess who likes them now?! Check out the colors – yum!
Now it is Friday. I can’t believe that we have already been home from Mexico for a week, crazy how time flies! I made myself a scrambled egg for breakfast and got an iced coffee at Starbucks as a Friday treat. My stomach is already majorly acting up from it – sometimes I just can’t handle it. I hope it gets itself in line before lunchtime, when I’m planning on going on another outdoor walk because it is still very pretty outside! BF and I have been invited to TWO happy hours tonight, both at places with lots of drinks and not good for you food. This week has been such a roller coaster of emotions and changes that I’m not even sure I can make it to any happy hours tonight, but we’ll see. I don’t feel as “low” as yesterday but I’m strugglin’ with energy levels and the amount of effort I have left in me this week to be friendly/social. Does anyone else struggle with that? Sometimes I feel like that tank is on empty and I just need my couch!
This is also our last “free” weekend before the move kicks into high gear. We’re giving our notice to the leasing office and heading to the pool tomorrow. I’m going to use the pool for swimming to reach my 4 day cardio goal for this week. I’m already feeling like I should be packing and planning. I started checking out pinterest last night for some garden ideas and realized VERY quickly how freaking clueless I am when it comes to gardens! I just want our house to look welcoming and nice from the outside, and not have to spend too much time on that. Any tips?!
In other news - Not sure if you are familiar with the program, but we use Virgin Health Miles at work to earn money for our healthcare spending. They used to make us use this really clunky and inaccurate pedometer. I put mine through the wash a few months ago and stopped tracking. Well, last week they announced that HealthMiles would be sync-able with Fitbit – DING DING DING. I hit my mark and earned $75 this week! That ALMOST covered the cost of my holter monitor test. The next goal hit will give me $150. It is definitely motivating me a little more to get those extra steps in!
Anyways, I survived another week and I’m moving forward. I’m hoping to make it a good first week and round out my workouts according to “The Plan.” I’m not going to weigh myself until Monday so I’m hoping that will help me behave a little better this weekend so that I’m not totally crushed on Monday haha. ONWARD!!!!!!!
