Seeing the Sites on a Showstring: Small Town Band Concerts

Friday, July 26, 2013

Where? Almost every New England town
Cost: Free!
Here in New England, band concerts at the local park are a tradition. Last night we had some beautiful jazz. On other Thursday nights, we have been entertained with folk, rock, country and patriotic music. The concerts in Hillsborough, NH at Butler Park are only held when it is not raining. Bring your own chair, treats and water and soda are usually available for a small fee to help a local organization. My husband and I go to enjoy the music, the neighbors, and a warm summer evening outside. Hillsborough Concerts start at 7, and go for an hour. I think that most small towns follow a similar pattern. Just find out what day of the week, the starting time, and show up! It's good fun for the whole family, and it is free!

Do you attend the band concerts? Tell me your experience!
Do you have concerts in your town? Please give me the time and place!
I will find some Butler Park Band Concert photos to add to this piece soon!
