Ch 11, Day 72

Another early morning rise. Quiet. Peaceful. Relaxing. Coffee. Sparking. Reflections. Organize my day.

If there is a better way to start a day, I don't know it.

Sciatica feels much improved this morning. No doubt it helped a lot not doing hardly any lifting, bending and turning yesterday. Maybe next week I can resume my usual 20-25 miles of walking. Once I am past this, I need to stop thinking and start acting on preventative care for my back. I presume this will include back, abdomen exercises, and yoga. It may also be prudent to visit the orthopedic doctor and see if I have any compressed discs that I am dealing with from the 2 years of lifting my mother when she was an invalid. I know that whole ordeal was a strain for my back, even though a therapist taught me to lift properly so I did not injure myself. And I did sustain one minor back injury at work from trying to move a heavy cargo pallet in a storage room about 20 years ago (very dumb). Memories come back to the surface as I wonder why I have a problem with my back/sciatica.

So far, so good with eating healthy and fitness, despite the back issues. I am slowly dropping more weight. I'd like to keep this streak going for as long as I can. The August Birthdays soiree tomorrow will be a challenging day. I'm going to start planning my foods today for tomorrow so that I at least have a road map in front of me. Three of us are seriously trying to eat healthy so we can draw support from one another. Peer pressure can have its advantages!

Cooler temperatures

let DH do all of the lifting of grand child again
Eat healthy
Sit grand daughter
Client work where I can
Plan tomorrow's meals
Pick up some pretty wrapping paper and birthday cards for tomorrow

    So glad you are slowly but surely getting better, me too. Thank goodness!
I think it is a good idea to start acting on preventative care. Seeing the doctor is a great idea too. ( I know I should do that too)
Congrats on good eating and fitness and dropping more weight, you are so strong being able to do this, happy for you!!

    It's so true what they say, aging is not for sissies. As we discover different parts of our bodies degenerating in different ways and try to stay one step ahead with fixes and preventative measures, it reminds me of nothing so much as an old car. It still gets us where we're going, so we keep fixing it.... keep chugging, my friend.

    So glad that the pain is lessening day by day. emoticon

I had two birthdays last weekend - daughters #1 and 3 - and agree that celebrations can be challenging, food wise. Having others on the same page will certainly help, good luck with that! Enjoy this! and congrats on the weight loss - slow and steady.
