Another early morning rise. Quiet. Peaceful. Relaxing. Coffee. Sparking. Reflections. Organize my day.
If there is a better way to start a day, I don't know it.
Sciatica feels much improved this morning. No doubt it helped a lot not doing hardly any lifting, bending and turning yesterday. Maybe next week I can resume my usual 20-25 miles of walking. Once I am past this, I need to stop thinking and start acting on preventative care for my back. I presume this will include back, abdomen exercises, and yoga. It may also be prudent to visit the orthopedic doctor and see if I have any compressed discs that I am dealing with from the 2 years of lifting my mother when she was an invalid. I know that whole ordeal was a strain for my back, even though a therapist taught me to lift properly so I did not injure myself. And I did sustain one minor back injury at work from trying to move a heavy cargo pallet in a storage room about 20 years ago (very dumb). Memories come back to the surface as I wonder why I have a problem with my back/sciatica.
So far, so good with eating healthy and fitness, despite the back issues. I am slowly dropping more weight. I'd like to keep this streak going for as long as I can. The August Birthdays soiree tomorrow will be a challenging day. I'm going to start planning my foods today for tomorrow so that I at least have a road map in front of me. Three of us are seriously trying to eat healthy so we can draw support from one another. Peer pressure can have its advantages!
