Thursday, 7/25 Day 1 of exercise to get sodium under 1000: 1139
I more than cut the sodium level in half. Still not below 1000.
What I've discovered:
All vinegars are not created equal. Some have no sodium like apple cider vinegar and Colavita Basalmic vineger.
Beet greens are loaded with natural salt. Don't plan them on days when you are eating salted processed foods like low-salt beans.
I was planning to measure out 1000 mg of salt and take a picture. And of course my digital scale measures in grams. I was not able to measure out 350 or 500 mg of salt. If I were teaching, I'd have access to an equal arm balance and standard metric weights.
Somebody probably already has done something like this and put it up on YouTube. Maybe I can discover a way to weigh salt myself and take a picture to have a visual of how much salt 1000 mg is.
At this point, it looks like it might be about a teaspoon. But don't quote me on that. I didn't actually measure 1000 mg with a spoon.
