Healthy but Low Hemoglobin

Thursday, July 25, 2013

went to give blood, but my hemoglobin was low. I was in the healthy range but it was too low to donate. I never had that problem before. it can be caused by not getting enough iron. i am wondering if it is not monthly cycle related. They said i could try again in a couple of days, but i may wait. i have been really tired lately. i will just have to remember to keep this list in mind a few days before i donate again.

I had the same issue. Check your diet - you may not be getting enough iron in. I had to increase my red meat consumption or go on iron supplements a few years back. That said, it is wonderful that people donate, so a big thank you!

That happened to me last time too. I haven't been back since. I feel pretty bad about it to be honest.
