It has been 32 years since I lived here. There have been many changes, surprisingly, much is still the same. Today I drove my family to many of the places I walked or biked to as a student. They have all decided it would be a wonderful place to live ~ they have only seen it in sunshine. The winter storms with unending rain and powerful winds can wear on one's mind. At least in Edmonton we see blue sky (at least a glimpse) every day no matter how cold it gets.
eagle keeping an eye on us as we explored his cove. Can you imagine having a view like this in your backyard
we saw sand castles the other day- this one is granite- finished in 1890 it was a family home for many years, served as a private hospital for a while, was a private school and a music conservatory. In 1979 restoration work began and is now 95% complete. With 2 stair cases of 87 steps each I would have no problem getting my spark fitness minutes in if I lived here
stained glass and carved wood panelling abound throughout
we spent the afternoon at the Ocean Discovery Centre in Sidney then headed outside on to the pier
where we were fortunate to see a harbor seal looking for a handout at the fish market.
then it was time to head back to our motel for a light supper and a dip in the pool- tomorrow the Inner Harbour beckons
