Mostly Positive Day

Thursday, July 25, 2013

Most of the day was really great! I had a leisurely morning catching up on some sleep. Then I had a great time being of service working with an engaging young man on both social and academic skills. He did a really wonderful job with everything we attempted. I left him knowing how proud of him I was!

After leaving his house, I headed to the Y in Gig Harbor, where I encountered an event that could have been far uglier than it was. As I was backing into my parking space, a very large raised pick-up truck suddenly backed into my left front quarter panel of my 5-month-old car (this is sadly the 4th time I have been hit since purchasing this new car).

A very sweet older gentleman got out of the truck, came over to me and apologized for hitting me and immediately gave me his insurance information, collected my information, and went to go call his agent to let him know what happened. I asked him if he was okay and he assured me he was and asked the same of me.

After that event, I decided I was not going to waste the trip to the Y and went in to get my workout. It took me a bit to get the shock out of my system, but I proceeded to get about an hour-and-a-half of strength training in with some cardio as a starter. I came home after that, still feeling a bit blue about the accident, but I am very grateful that both the gentleman who hit me and I are both safe.
