My Battle these past couple of days

VS

If you haven't already heard, I won a prize on Tuesday. I won a year of free ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery.

I LOVE ice cream. It's the one thing I could not give up. Instead of giving it up, I've found compromises. I tend to keep frozen yogurt in the freezer at home. Because of my allergies, the simpler (fewer additives/preservatives) the better. I add fresh fruit to it all the time too.

However, since Cold Stone opened up in town a couple of months ago, I find myself going on occassion.

Anyhow I was surprised to find that I won this.

But I am happy to report, for the second day in a row, the desire to get my bikini body back has won out. Yes, today I had some frozen yogurt at home. I even had enough room in my calories today to have some cold stone. I just didn't go.

I can't say the same for tomorrow. But I can say this - I KNOW eating cold stone will require me to work out even more. I have a specific calorie deficit I am striving for daily and I don't want to compromise it for anything. Especially since it's so easy to make sure I get there - I just have to MOVE MORE to reach it.

Tomorrow is week5 Day2 of my half marathon training - 70minute tempo run. I'm going to have to get up about 5:30 to be able to get it in before work tomorrow morning.

Wish me luck.

Congrats on the prize. To make you laugh. I did the Rock and Roll Va Beach Half Marathon in 2012 & 2013. in 2013 the prize for the first 100 finishers was a year supply of FREE chick-fila. I can't imagine how many of those first 100 racers actually eat that.

It is one of those prizes, that I would suggest passing on to someone else, but I like cold stone. And for goodness sake, unless you eat it EVERY DAY its not going to kill you! And then if you do eat it every day you'll get sick of it, or the season will change and it'll be too cold for ice cream.

That's one prize I'm very glad I don't have. Ice cream isn't even my favorite treat and would have a terrible time staying away from it if it were free.

Good luck on your marathon training! Can you maybe donate the year of free ice cream? Maybe to the local shelter for starving supermodels? emoticon emoticon May the beach body and lots of running triumph over your temptation!

I am also jealous of your winnings!! A years worth is a lot. Maybe you could share with your family and treat yourself every once in a while cuz you really wouldn't want all that ice cream to go to waste. Best of luck :)

Wowza, that'd add up to 10 lbs on me in no time at all...
(Part of the reason I never go hard-core paleo is that I don't think I can sacrifice my dairy products)
    Congratulations!?!?!?!

My battle is Hershey's miniature candy bars that my wife "hides" in the refrigerator. I am a pretty good detective, so I find them easily, but I have no willpower and eat more than I should.

I must say I'm jealous of the the free ice cream for a year, but at the same time....OOOO the temptation!

I would say eat some cold stone as a reward for doing good and on some of your cheat days!

    Best of luck for everything!
