Happiness Experiment: Day 9 (of 21)

Sorry I missed yesterday! Keep on keepin' on!
1. I'm thankful for a great face to face meeting with all the project managers in our organization. I actually organized the venue and food for this 3-day meeting and I was nervous about everything going smoothly. Had a few hiccups with the venue yesterday in the morning, but then we were alright. The agenda has flowed very well and we have stayed on time for the most part. Great professional discussion, as well as relationship building and networking. This has been a WONDERFUL Summer Face to Face!
2. I'm thankful for free food for the past two days. It sounds silly, but I did mention I am really broke right now. It's nice to go to work and get free breakfast and lunch (and free dinner on Tuesday). And the food is pretty darn amazing too! I have really saved a bundle this week not having to buy my lunches or snacks. I can't guarantee that it's all been perfectly healthy or on my nutrition plan, though. Haha.
3. I am thankful for two very good evenings with my kids. No yelling. Very little fighting and both nights filled with fun. We went bowling last night (I don't know why I didn't know that kids bowl free ALL summer - up to two games per day - at the Indiana Memorial Union!) and it was great.
Tonight, took the kids to the park until 7:30pm to burn some energy. Got home, made dinner, baths and bed. Easy peasy! We all slept wonderfully last night again. It's SO nice to have cooler weather for sleeping!!!!
I know my positive already. There is a new project manager and I'll call him Mr. J. Today, I was working with him on some mailing list issues and he said to one of our colleagues, "I always tell everyone, if you want to deal with someone who is an absolute delight, you need to contact Leah Drichel." Oh my gosh. I was not expecting such a high compliment from him...especially when I just met him!!! I was very touched! It was just an offhand comment, but it meant so much to me. I really do work hard to make sure the service to the project managers is quick, efficient and that there is warmth behind all our interactions. Sometimes it is just good to know that I'm not just spinning my wheels, you know?
Nothing today. Boo.
Great time this afternoon as I was shopping for groceries and at the park as I watched my kids play.
