Vege Box 7/25

Thursday, July 25, 2013

My challenge to myself this week is to use up the vegetables from this week's CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) box - plus a few left from before.

On the left is the older stuff:

Golden beets - will roast these - I LOVE roasted beets!
Purple kohlrabi - Dave called dibs on this.
Breakfast radishes - D gets these as I don't care for radishes.

Top row:

Kale - Red Russian and lacinato - D gets as I haven't found a kale recipe I like.
Lettuces - Red leaf and Green Oak Leaf - salads

Bottom row:

Yukina - "an Asian green for stir fry or soup"
Summer squash - 2
Green onions
Spinach - my favorite as I eat vege wraps with fresh spinach daily - YUM!

The boxes are on the light-side early this season as the growing season was late in starting here in Wisconsin. I am waiting for the newsletter to be sent via email in case I want to use it's ideas for what to do with the produce.

Cut it all up & make a soup out of them. Everything there I use in home made soups. Just a suggestion.
