Today's Trial

Thursday, July 25, 2013

Today, I have to help my little brother straighten out his application for college and financial aid. That means having to deal with my mother...perhaps for hours.

Oh, Sparkers! I would really rather not have to deal with her. She's exhausting.

My goal is to remain calm and in control of the situation. I'm not going to allow her to ruin this for my little brother.

And now I leave you with this hilarious meme...

I have just returned from my trial. My mission has been accomplished with a minimum amount of guff being dealt out by my mother. For the most part, she stayed out of our way as we put together all the stuff my little brother needed.

I could tell she was put out by the whole thing, BUT she didn't let any snarky comments fly...which is an unusual thing for her.

So, I have triumphed, Sparkers.

(I'll be interested to see how long she can go without trying to sabotage our efforts.)

I think it is not uncommon for our closest relatives to be our worst enemies, yet we may love them very much. My grown daughter would LOVE for me to stay fat and never leave the house again! Yet she loves me deeply and is my best friend! She is very threatened by my positive changes, not to mention other friends! But I am pushing past them. Eventually, if they love us, they will adjust to the new "us." and they may be inspired! Good on you for moving past it and coping well with this situation! And thanks for talking about it! You are a good example to me!

Oh, wine! That sounds so good right now! I might go for that later!

Hooray for my new higher calorie range!

Just keep in mind --- those extra calories you've earned can easily be used for wine...(it's medicinal - honest, it is!)

Besides, just think of how many extra calories will be burned as your blood pressure and heart rate rise with the aggravation - I'm sure that will gain you even more play-room with that calorie range!

Strong thoughts!
