Foods I have to stop buying

Thursday, July 25, 2013

This is the list of foods I have to stop buying because I can not control myself. They call my name until it is all gone.

1) sweets - cookies, candies (except hard candy), cakes, donuts, anything chocolate (except dark chocolate, I seem to handle that one well)

2) any kind of chex mix

3) Chips, potato chips, any flavor and Frito's.

4) Cheese - this one is a biggie for me!! I LOVE CHEESE!! Now I'm not talking about the wrapped cheese. I'm talking about the good stuff!! Sliced deli cheese, cheese sticks and cheese cubes. And it can be just about any flavor. One I ate a whole pound in one day, than acted like I didn't know who ate it. BAD!!!

5) Chocolate silk peanut butter. I ate it all in 2 days, way too good!!

6) Anything with caramel!! Love the stuff!!

7) Wine/hard liquor - I can drink a bottle of wine in nothing flat. Whisky and other hard liquor I can drink in about 4-5 days. NOT GOOD!!

8) Honey roasted peanuts, I can eat the whole can!!!!!

I don't know why this stuff sends me over the edge but it does. I'm going to have to stop buying it for a while.

Thanks for stopping by!! I will have to print this and put on my fridge!!

Have a smashing day!!

emoticon That list looks like the one I should put up. Me its any pastry filled with fruit, strawberries, apples and dates once I start I will end up eating 3 in a day. Chocolate covered almonds are my other addiction.

I absolutely love the words of motivation. I laughed but oh how true.

My biggest downfall right now is choc chips. I have convinced myself a few a day isn't bad. Which it probably isn't .... when you stick to a FEW. 1/2 a cup is NOT a few.

My list has really strange disgusting things on it, like the combo of white bread hot dog buns with chunky peanut butter. Fresh sweet onion salsa, because of all the chips I'll eat with it. Pimento cheese spread. Cheese whiz on triscuits. I guess I'm a creative eater! LOL

But you're so right. There are just some foods we have to beware and keep out of our house!!

Pretty much my list, except for the wine & liquor. I can only drink 1 glass of red wine. Buy when it comes to other things you have mentioned ~ "if it's there, I must eat it". emoticon

You are right, if it just calls to you, don't have it around to tempt you. Good advice. emoticon

Oh, Lynn, good for you for posting your triggers, and keeping a list on the fridge. My list is much longer than that, I'm afraid. I do almost fairly well not bringing some home but there are quite a few time that it gets ignored and home it comes.

Knowing what triggers you is a really good thing! Good luck clearing them out of the house--still working on that here!

At least you know your triggers so you can keep them away from you:) CHeck out SparkRecipes for some healthy "sweets"

Great job!

Hey, we have similar lists! :-) Unfortunately, chips and sweets are "must-haves" for my DH so they are always in the house whether I want them there or not. I can mitigate the ill effects by making or buying for him flavors that he likes but I don't, but that doesn't always work.

I like your idea of keeping your list on the fridge. I think I will do the same so DH isn't shocked when these things don't make it home from the grocery store with me!

Good job on identifying your trouble foods!

Putting it on your fridge is a good idea...

Purging the house is next!

Do you have substitutes in mind? Your foods sound like snack and relaxation foods for the most part..So do you have some foods and beverages to replace them? Like herbal tea, rice cakes, hummus? Veggies and fruits maybe yogurt spreads or dips?
