Working It

Thursday, July 25, 2013

If I haven't been feeling very productive in the past month, I sure feel I've done ALOT in the past three days. Last night I worked 11 pm til 330 am pulling up nail strips and stuck on padding and loosened baseboards even though I couldn't get any more removed. I did notice that one of the few I did remove says Dec 46 on the back of it. No wonder everything is crumbling. We really NEEDED this renovation for the stability of the dang structure! Tonight, it only took from 1130 pm til 130 am to rip up all the remaining carpet except the parts I had to cut around the heavy furniture I cannot move alone, scrape up all the stuck on padding, remove all the nail strips I could get to AND move all the furniture back. Most. I left some tables and the hutch in the jumbled up dining room since who knows what or where Ron will want to start with. Good ole Dakota was nice enuf to take the carpet to the trash but we only got the padding outside by the bushes.

Always interesting working with the girls. Pretty good til 9 when they all decided they weren't getting enough attention and two asking to be put on precautions. One got her way and then threw a tantrum cuz she changed her mind. Oops. Also fun working with the latest new RN who has never had a job in her life, much less nursing, always trying to correct everyone and even having the nerve to tell me that I will learn alot from HER. But it seems we are finally getting coverage so they have FOUR of us scheduled for my birthday. Guess who decided that made it a perfect time to ask off for? I am also asking off for the day after the Temptations concert we are going to in September and last night, RN Becky said she would love to go to the fair with me in October to see KC and the Sunshine Band. So I put in for that too. Besides the week beforeour next planned beach trip at the end of October. Aside from that, my Medifast health coach is trying to talk me into becoming a health coach but I have never believed in paying to get a job. $200 for the kit. Right.

I hate leaving stuff piled up, the bedroom is even worse, but you gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet. Mmmmmm. Omelet. With bacon. Mmmmmm....

Ahem. Do you think Ron had anything nice to say when he woke me up just two hours after I finally got to sleep? Even after I gave him a hug instead of bopping him on the head for doing it because he's so clueless he doesn't get how rude his morning routine is? He had two sentences to say to me. What are you doing and You sure move alot of stuff around to never even finish with one spot. I stared at him and moved to the bed. Did I mention that I have to sleep on the couch if I can't sleep before 2 am which is every night? That's because then I can't move into a different room where he ISN'T banging and bouncing around. I left him a note..."You're welcome. I appreciate all your hard work and effort too." I even refrained from adding an endearing descriptor to the ending. Jack ass.

On the happy ending, the lead singer of Bowling for Soup tweeted how AMAZING Counting Crows are. That's always cool. Heard Counting Crows at the store last weekend too.
