I last blogged on May 15. That's probably about the last day I spent being serious about my health and making this healthy lifestyle a priority. Since then, it's been busy weeks full of driving kids here and there, birthday parties, weekend trips, bbq's, potlucks, and family gatherings. Summer is usually really busy for me anyway. In the past, I wasn't focused on my health, so the weight gain came and I didn't bat an eye. Since I've spent the last 2 years being more conscious of my choices, I've done much better about staying on the right track. This summer has been different. I've been very "fly by the seat of my pants," meaning I haven't been tracking, meal-planning or working out regularly. Somehow i must have convinced myself I was "okay" at the weight I was at, and that I could maintain throughout the summer because I was staying so busy. Boy, was I wrong. Those changes in my routine equaled a 10 lb weight gain for me. Stepping on the scale today was shocking! But luckily, after years of "dieting" and then 2 years of working towards an actual LIFESTYLE CHANGE, I'm able to recognize how off track I've gotten before it goes too far. So, I'm finding my way back to SparkPeople. The one constant support that I've had throughout it all. Sparkpeople helps me focus on the small changes, making the big goal seem more attainable. I've missed all my SparkFriends these past couple months! Thanks for the kind messages and goodies I've gotten while "away." Coming back to healthy choices and a healthy lifestyle feels like coming home. There's only one way to go from here......UP!
