I saw the Monkees in concert last night! Woo

Wednesday, July 24, 2013

did any one else go to the concert here in Raleigh?

A good friend and her husband were going, but then her husband had to work, SO, I got to go instead. Last time I saw them was maybe 23 years ago. I think they were in Durham and Paul Revere and the Raiders, and Herman's Hermits, and some other group were with them then.

One of the best parts was watching all the other old coots(like myself) sing along and cheer. Michael Nesmith (sp) must be in his 70's and the rest in their late 60's.

What a wonderful way to end an exhausting day!

Davy Jones is the one who passed away. I believe he lived in FL, Tampa Bay area. I always thought he was the cutest. I remember when they first came out.. I lived in upstate NY back then and one of my neighbor friends started a Monkeys club and we all use to roll around listening to their music....Hey Hey with the Monkey's..

I have always Loved THE MONKEES. I'm happy that you got to enjoy them in person. It's good to know that you're never too old to ROCK N ROLL !
