In need of some guidance...

Tuesday, July 23, 2013

I may keep my old bedroom furniture for the new place as the bedrooms are 11 by 13 and the second bedroom is 11 by 13 by 10. Wondering if that is on the small side.

I have a twin bed in the old bedroom along with a very nice bureau and a large chest of drawers.

I also have a small bookcase.

I will also have to go somewhere and go clothing shopping as nothing I had in the old bedroom closet fits anymore. It was all too big.

Closet is seven by two by five.

Dining room is eleven three by seven ten.

I will have a deck so I can buy a small grill for next summer for cookouts.

My rent will be five hundred and twenty six dollars a month.

Who should I ask with these questions?.

I think your furniture will fit, but anything that doesn't fit can be donated. My sister runs a reorganizing business, she does room plans on her computer. You can measure out your room, measure out the furniture placement plan, and make sure there is plenty of space (either through a computer program, or on a sheet of paper with measurements). But it may be easiest if you can just visit your new apartment bedroom (or a similar room that is vacant in the apartment complex) and compare it to your current room size. Get rid of anything that you don't want any more, clothes that don't fit, and furniture that won't fit in the new space.

Keep what fits, Salvation Army or Purple Heart for what doesn't. Moving is such a good time to clear out the old and now useless stuff.

My bedroom is 10 x 14. I have 2 chest of drawers, my desk with computer a bed and 2 small tables in it. And paintings/pictures on the walls to boot. It is crowded, but it fits.

I think you will fit what you have there. Plus there is 'common area' that you will share with the roommate, like a living room or dining room? If you can't fit everything, perhaps you could use a little part of the shared area?

Just remember, your Spark friends are with you! emoticon

Sounds like you have enough to fill up your room. Don't know exactly who you need to ask.
