Back again, looking to lose 17!

Moving to a desk job and a commute sure put the pounds back on over the past 4 years!
In January I started drinking a "green" juice every morning, pretty regularly for quite a few months. Within six weeks, I suddenly noticed the puffiness under my eyes had all but disappeared! I found myself, instead of feeling groggy and muddle headed until I had my coffee, feeling alert and awake, to the point that I started forgetting to even make my coffee in the morning! After a 30+ year coffee habit! I tried going without, and had not even a hint of a headache! I was shocked. I switched to just having a little at work, for comfort's sake, but found I wasn't finishing even one cup, it was neglected and left to get cold!
The biggest thing I noticed over the ensuing months was my sex drive was increasing! My energy felt "normal" instead of worn out at the end of my work day, and no afternoon crashes! I've found I have less desire for meat, and am wanting to try more vegetable dishes. I used to love a good, juicy, medium steak, and now, that isn't even interesting to me. I'd rather have a warm mixed veggie dish with some exotic flavors thrown in, and a nice baked sweet potato on the side.
I have a gluten sensitivity, so it's been no issue for me to steer away from breads and baked goods. Although, there have been some delicious advances made in gluten free baking, and those delicious goodies are hard to resist. It's a good thing that most of them I have to cook myself, I can't just run out and buy one when I'm feeling peckish.
So with all this healthier eating, I've not lost any weight. I'm tired of my clothes not fitting well. I seem to be an in-between size, not quite a medium, not quite a large, so it's very hard to find clothes that look good on me now!
So here it is, 17lbs to lose, but a stronger goal for me is to get fit. I have been doing quite a bit of walking, and have found that if I walk briskly for 15-20 minutes, I want to start running. I have some knee issues, but they are all muscular related, and if I just strengthen my knees and the muscles around them, it's likely I'll be able to really take up running. However, it's also very likely the pain I experience is due to skeletal misalignment, due to my hips and sacrum being a bit out of whack.
I was born with hip dysplasia, and see a chiropractor regularly, as well as a masseuse to help me loosen up these tight muscles that lead to things being so out of joint. It's been helping a lot, and I really really hope I can get to where I'm running in 5k's, or more! I also love yoga, and it's been a godsend for helping these muscles stay loose.
I plan to blog thoughts and things, so if this is boring, you go ahead and skip on by, I'm hoping the blogging will help me stay on track. I am largely hoping the blogging is one tool that will help me motivate to do my yoga and hit the gym on a regular basis!
