You mean I need to eat MORE?!

Tuesday, July 23, 2013

Good morning Sparkers!

In my last blog I was seeking help with how/what I need to do to lose some of this baby weight (plus some!) emoticon So I did a little more research and found this pretty cool website:

Not only does it calculate how many calories a typical person would need to consume based on the number of calories you burn while sedentary, but it does the same thing for those of us nursing mommies! emoticon

...And when I calculated it, it told me I need to eat WAYYYY MORE!

At first it kinda freaked me out. I mean, that goes against everything that we are taught, right?! But then I started thinking, wait, I get to eat MORE and lose weight? PLUS help my baby get all of the nutrients she needs! emoticon Happy girl right here!

So I reset my tracker and plugged in all of my food for the day...and I still have 600 calories left to consume to stay in the LOWER end of the range! Looks like I need to figure out some healthy snacks! Any ideas Sparkies? What are your favorite healthy snacks?

Anywhooo, I hope everyone is having a great day! And here's to this truly being the trick to tipping the scale while nursing!

Thanks yall! I definitely need to start bringing healthy snacks with me to work! My biggest downfall is staying away from sweets....especially in the evenings!

Baby carrots and celery, with peanut butter for dipping!

I am sometimes up with my fats, but need calories, so I tend to go with nonfat milk a lot. Almonds are also great too! emoticon

My go to snack for big calories but good for me -- almonds as they have protein, good fats and will give you some nice calories for your count.
