I bought a much new smaller more energy-efficient refrigerator for my small kitchen. Earlier this year I bought a new 1/2 size energy star dishwasher to replace my full size one. I'm trying to save money and decrease my carbon footprint. I'm trying to decrease the amount of stuff I own and buy, as well.
I've been married 30 years today. I've got at least 15 more years to go before I even think about retirement.
I went to see Mom and Dad this week. Mom is doing really well in assisted living. Dad is in the nursing home part of the retirement home. He has dementia. He is talking less and getting more confused. But, he is getting good care. He still enjoys eating and going in the whirlpool tub. He still recognizes Mom and I. Dad is 90 and Mom is 89. They have been married 65 years.
I started tracking my food again. I've been eating extra portions and goodies at work. I've been doing well on my exercising.
My fitness center near my house closed, so I have to drive a little farther now. But, it is worth the drive. It is a women's only fitness center. I really enjoy the indoor pool, the whirlpool, the sauna, and the steamroom. It's not really busy when I go, so I have no trouble getting to use the equipment I enjoy. I'm not really good at going to the exercise classes. I enjoy doing my own thing, lately. My husband is disabled with a head injury, COPD, and CHF, so he is home most of the time. It is nice to get away and not have to listen or talk to anyone.
My skin has been doing so much better. I have seborrhea dermatitis on my face and scalp. It has been doing very well. I am taking a break from sailing this whole Spring and Summer. When I sail in the Spring in Summer it is so hot. I sail in the intercoastal, here in the Gulf of Mexico. I have to get my head wet when I'm out there in the heat. I think there is something in the water that bothers my skin. When the water temp. is in the 80's there is a lot more bacteria and fungi brewing. When it gets bad, I scratch and pick at it. It's so hard for me not to.
