Car pull ups!

Tuesday, July 23, 2013

The camper van we've rented is pretty high off the ground - I can manage to climb into the cab section when we're parked next to a curb (or kerb, in Aussie).

But when I'm climbing in from the ground up, well, I'm a bit short to get in easily. The actual seat is close to waist level for me - so I have to lift one leg very high and kind of rest a thigh on the seat, at an upward angle. Then I hold the two handles, take a hop and at the same time pull up so I swing into the seat and get my other leg inside.

My arms are getting totally buffed after four weeks of this! It's getting easier and easier to hop into the cab, and I'm not banging my knees every time any more.

Great exercise, great victory!

Well that is one way to get rid of the flabbing arms we get as we age-if we don't exercise. I'm going to trim hedges and trees. Holding that electric hedging tool gives me a work out.
Enjoy your travels Phebe.
