Pat's rice bag

Monday, July 22, 2013

One of my friends in Maine Sewed the basic plan for this rice bag. It has several channels. she sent it to me and i filled it to the designated line with short grain rice and hemmed it. PRESTO! I froze the bag in a ziplock bag and used it on my knee. I love this bag. It will also go in the microwave for 1 minute.

thank you Pat!

Oh I have to try this! I lost a similar bag professionally made with Sandy and this is an economical replacement. emoticon emoticon

Yep, rice bags are wonderful! I have several. I like them better for heat than cold, but they do either one very nicely.

I made a makeshift one several years ago, just took a sock and filled it with rice and tied the top. Yours is nicer but mine still worked when I needed it!

An easier one is a rice sock heating pad.
You put rice in a sock, tie the end and use it - freeze it for a cold pack or put it in the microwave for a minute and a half for a hot pack.
