Whole30 has become second nature now, and I honestly don't remember what I ate morning, noon, and night the past 5 days! I know what to buy at the farmers market to last me through the week (if it's almost too heavy to carry, I probably have enough). I know what I have to pick up at the grocery store (avocados, bagged salad, oils). I know how much meat to thaw out at what intervals. It's become... dare I say... easy.
Highlights since I've seen you last have been
-skipping that office bday cake, and the offer of leftovers the next day
-making an awesome greek dinner with meatballs, tzatziki mayo, and plantain "pita"
-another banging pot roast... tarragon is my new friend
-finding a more reliable source of fresh eggs at the farmers market
-realizing that making my own ghee is way cheaper than buying coconut oil
-I bought an orange watermelon, orange!
-bought my own POLE!! that will arrive next week and live in the spare bedroom.. weeee.. I will be inverting in no time.
And the lowlights :(
-Bf quit Whole30 bc we've been snapping at each other too much. He's still eating compliant meals, but he's dipping again and putting sugar in his coffee. And drinking cancer water aka Mtn Dew. We instantly went back to lovey-dovey mode, so maybe it was too much at once for him and driving him crazy. He's a grown man, he can make his own decisions about his health so I'll back off completely. I will offer my opinion but not insistence. Surprisingly it wasn't hard watching him stuff chocolate covered pretzels down his pie hole. And he got a well deserved gut-punch from the gluten later. I smirked over this the entire time he was in the bathroom.
-Cilantro is out of season! So is dill! Why didn't i make and freeze sauces for times like this?!
-I ate a tums! Sugar! Eeeeee! I didn't even think about it until it was already in my mouth. Whoops.
-I've eaten a copious amount of nuts even though I was quitting. I've been dipping handfuls of almonds into the innards of dates. It kinda satiated the chocolate + peanut butter fix I get around this time. Technically that was against the rules.
-I realized I still have a whole 'nother weekend without refreshing beer on a hot summer's day. Ready for this to be over, not to go back to eating bad meals, but to be able to drink a bit and have a milkshake once in a blue moon.
As of right now I'm about 40% through with my fitness certification study guide, and I've got my CPR cert in mid-August. Tonight I'm meeting with the owner to go over my training for Intro to Pole! I'm going to be a Pole Instructor in no time!!!
