Many Challenges coming together, linking together.
Link: I've been losing weight, I no longer need to get up at 4:00 to go to the bathroom,
Link: I now have to take my thyroid meds when I get up and wait about an hour for breakfast. I could go back to bed, but I can't get back to sleep.
Weekly Challenges is serving up a Links in a Chain Challenge where we link a new habit we want to establish with another habit we're already doing. So this seemed like a Habit sandwich to me. Put some good stuff in between waking up and eating breakfast.
So I did that and enjoyed it so much, I didn't want to waste time fixing breakfast.
Link: For breakfast, I ate the lunch I packed last night for my painting picnic. : D
Link: Dr. Fuhrman preaches the salad is the meal. So after breakfast I quickly made a salad of purple cabbage, cantaloupe, steamed broccoli, and steamed cauliflower. I threw on some balsamic vinegar, packed it with my gym bag and plein air painting box and was off to the Water Aerobics Class.
The coach is wonderful. Keeps us moving, and somehow manages to make us hear her without barking like a drill sergeant. (The arthritic class instructor barks, maybe because everyone is older-equating deaf??)
Then all of the links came together. I WALKED to the river tree I'm painting.
I put down the towel I packed because the spot is frequented by ducks and geese.
Then I enjoyed painting
and eating my "second" lunch. BTW, I know it looks like a lot of food. It was. I'll be having it again tonight or tomorrow.
Link: since the Healthy Lunch Club is having a challenge to link a fitness activity to lunchtime, I had to get in 10 minutes after I ate, so I walked in a different direction, along the road and up the hill. I was going to do 5 minutes out and return, but I kept going in a circle, always taking left turns, and eventually wound up back at the bridge to cross back over to my car.
And since I had had a filling, delicious meal with lots of fiber (link to Full Plate Living), I didn't link the whole trip to stopping at the ice cream shop on the drive home. : D
I love linking. To me it's like streaking, only with a long chain of seemingly unrelated activities that just keep the momentum going, moving you steadily toward your goals.
