Four pounds

It's been about a week since I started seriously on this road again. About five days since I've started doing cardio and ab exercises. I'm down four pounds. I already feel better. I already feel like I look better. I'm already happier.
My goal is to lose roughly twenty pounds before my vacation in the beginning of September. If I can keep it up, intensifying just a bit...I can definitely do it.
Back to work tomorrow, but damn it's been a great couple days off :)

    Be careful how high you set your goals. The last thing you want to do is overwhelm yourself. Losing 1-2 pounds a week is average, but not guaranteed. You can do everything "perfectly right" and never lose a pound. You can only control your efforts, but you can't control how much weight your body loses. You might be able to hit that 20 pound goal, but you might put in every effort and only lose 5 pounds. If you don't hit your goal, what will you do? What if you do hit your goal? How will you proceed after your vacation? Will you throw everything to the wind during your vacation, or live moderately?

    Often it is more helpful to set goals that are completely within your control - eating within your calorie range, not drinking any sodas or juices, exercising 30 minutes 5 days a week, etc. These are things you can control, whereas how much weight your body burns in a short amount of time isn't really within your control.
