A weekend of driving . . .

I tried to keep up with the Healthy Living Challenge I'm participating in (sponsored by DH's work). It was quite the challenge this weekend since we were out of town, but DH and I did pretty good.
Thursday my sister and I hiked the "mountain trail" near my house. I had to take DD#2 to the dentist and stop and get some stuff for her trip (volleyball camp @ University of Florida) and for DD#1 & #3 who were staying home alone for the weekend (closely watched by my Dad). By the time I got home, no one wanted to exercise with me (DH was at work and had already done his 30 mins. before work).
My sister said she would meet me at the park when she got off work. By the time we got started, it was almost 8 pm. The trail winds up the mountain and is very steep at times. It was also more rocky than usual. We've gotten so much rain, a lot of the dirt was washed down the hill. It was a tough hike and it was starting to get dark, so we were getting concerned. It's in pretty dense trees, so the sun doesn't get through. We were able to get in about a 45 min. hike, (it wasn't so dark when we got back to the parking lot) so I got in my 30 mins. on Thursday!
We left @ 5 am on Friday to drive to Florida (after dropping DD#2 off at the high school to take the bus to camp). We were driving to DH's niece's house in Central Florida to visit with her and her 7 month old twins (very cute!). We stopped at Cracker Barrel and got a pretty healthy breakfast.
We stayed at her house for about 6+ hours visiting (DH's brother, sister-in-law and sister also were visiting) and playing with babies. We were going to take the twins to the park, but it started to rain. We didn't eat anything there and had about a 30 min. ride to the hotel, so we stopped at Zaxby's and got a salad (didn't have lunch). By the time we checked in and ate, it was after 8 pm. DH decided to walk on the treadmill (didn't want to run since we just ate). I was going to blow off the whole exercise thing that night (the other treadmill in the gym was out of order), but I walked out to the car to get something and the rain had stopped, so I got DH off the treadmill and we had a nice walk around the hotel and the strip mall area next door.
We had a great breakfast at the hotel (plenty of healthy options) and picked up DH's niece & babies and drove to DH's dad's house (another 2 hours of driving). We visited a while there (DH's dad has Stage 4 cancer and is not doing well - very awkward situation with stepmom's family, etc.) Anyway, we drove niece & babies back home and headed north to the University of Florida to watch DD#2's volleyball tournament.
We had just enough time to stop by Publix and pick up some fruit & salad (trying to eat right) and check into the hotel. We didn't eat anything at the Dad's house, so we didn't have lunch again. I was quickly eating my salad and trying to figure out where we needed to go for the tournament (there were 3 different locations at the college they could have been playing). Anyway, I didn't get to finish my salad or eat any of the fruit, but thankfully the room had a refrigerator.
We headed to the campus and found out where DD#2 was playing. We got in a good walk from the parking lot to the arena. The games that night were over at 9:30, so DH and I knew we wouldn't want to exercise when we got back to the hotel, so we took a 30 minute walk around the campus. It was pretty well lit and there was a lot of activity since there was the volleyball camp and a large state swimming meet.
I hate to admit (being a big Georgia Bulldog fan and a Gator Hater) that it was a very nice campus! We headed back to the hotel and I finished my salad and ate some fruit (at 10:30 at night).
DH got up early and ran on the treadmill (I couldn't quite force myself) and then we ate another great breakfast (highly recommend the free breakfast at Hampton Inns). While we were eating we got a text from DD#2 that she was playing with the Gold Team (which is varsity and this is only her 2nd year playing volleyball, so she was pretty thrilled she got to play "up"). Since this was a different team, it was at a different location from the previous evening. We hurried up with breakfast and drove to the campus. We had to walk around trying to find the building (score more for exercise!). They had a lunch break at 11:30, but we were still full from breakfast, so we walked around campus for about 45 mins. (more exercise!).
They only played one game after that, so we were able to leave about 1:30. We were still not hungry, but we did get a Dairy Queen ice cream (it was at the gas station and it was National Ice Cream Day yesterday). Back in the car for another 5+ hours of driving! We didn't want to stop again, so no lunch again on Sunday. I ate some junk in the car, so I wasn't really hungry when we got home about 7:30 pm.
So I got in my 30 mins. of exercise. I managed to squeeze in the 5 servings of freggies, 1 serving of lean protein and my water (just barely). However, with all the odd eating, and sitting around in the car, I'm not sure how this will affect my weigh in on Wednesday. However, if we weren't doing this challenge, I'm not sure I would have bothered with the exercise and trying to eat right since we were out of town and it wasn't very convenient
I was able to scrounge up enough for my healthy breakfast & lunch today, but I'll need to get to the grocery store! DH works tonight, so I'm not sure what my exercise will be today.
