(Just saying, I am not trying to offend anyone with this blog.) I have been struggling over the past copy of weeks with my journey. After much thought and frustration I have decided to do what I know works. I started my journey in January of this year. And I started it with SPARKPEOPLE. I worked up to where I was walking 2 miles a day with some running, I was doing Coach Nicole ST videos every night for 1/2 hour. I was eating better. I had a routine. I was relying on my Spark friends to travel the journey with me.
Then I got into looking at fitness pages on Facebook. Don't get me wrong, I like Facebook just as much as the next person, but it distorted my plan. I started seeing all of these people that were skinny and muscle bound so I thought I needed to do what they were doing to lose weight. I got so overwhelmed with all of the information and stuff out there that I just shut down. I don't have the money to go to a gym, but after looking at those pages I thought that was the only way I was going to lose weight.
Now I'm not criticizing anyone at all. Everyone has their own journey and goals. It's just that's not the look I'm going for. I want to be skinny yes, but more than that I want to be healthy and toned. I would make excuses not to walk, excuses not to exercise, and excuses not to eat right. Then this weekend I got to thinking "Lisa you know you can do this and you know how to do it!". Where's that woman who stopped at the track in a snowstorm and walked 1.5 miles in 3" of snow? Where's that woman who walked when it was zero degrees out? Where's that woman who followed Spark and lost 20# in 4 months?
I am working on finding that woman again because I know I can do it and I know how to do it. Yes I like the recipes, motivations, etc. on FB and I will continue to look at these pages for suggestions, but I KNOW SPARKPEOPLE WORKS!!!!!!! I'm getting my head on straight and finding that woman again. If you need her she'll be walking in the rain tonight after work!
