Hi Sparkers! I haven't had a lot of time to post on here lately. I am 28 now - but do I feel like 28? Most days I feel like I am 22. Other days when I feel really sore, I feel like I am 63!
My vacation was a lot of fun. I went to the Buffalo Zoo, Niagara Falls (US and Canadian sides), a Lake Ontario cabin, Chimney Bluffs, beach, and mini golfing. We walked around so much on rocks, sand, gravel, dirt, etc. Even though I drank and ate a lot, I did so much exercise! I went kayaking too around the bay. We saw turtles, frogs, and swans! The weather was perfect. It was around 80 the whole time and there was hardly any humidity. It rained a couple of nights, but I didn't mind.
When I got back, we hit the rest of the heat wave for my Birthday! It was so hot just walking from my house to my car! At least it isn't as hot this week. It rained last night, and it looks like it is going to rain again. My tomato plant leaves are a little wilty, so hopefully they perk up. My pepper plants have been growing like crazy! I picked one bell pepper so far and 10 hot peppers! Next year I want to try to grow a green bean plant & maybe a cucumber plant if I have the space for it.
I had a potluck on Saturday. It was a lot of fun! I made chicken sausage mac & cheese, spinach artichoke dip, turkey chili, white-peach sangria, and a layered pudding/cool whip/pound cake/strawberry dessert. I used fat free cool whip & sugar free pudding & it was really tasty! My Mom's Birthday was yesterday & I made her stuffed mushrooms with a cream cheese/mushroom/parsley/garlic filler. I didn't try any, but my parent's loved them.
Now that I have been home from vacation, I have been trying to do exercise without melting. I went to cardio kickboxing last week. I am going to go on Wednesday too. I have been trying to do situps and some other at-home exercises. It is tough getting back on a stricter eating schedule once vacation is over. I still feel like I need to eat more sometimes because of how much I ate when I was away!
I don't know if I will make it to my 155 goal by my Sparkversary (Aug 17), but I am happy. Even though I still feel fat some days, I am happy more often. I try to stay positive when I can, and I am still exercising. When I can, I am tracking my food and fitness. When I look at my pictures, I don't feel as fat. I don't feel skinny, but I don't feel AS big. I am trying to be more accepting of who I am overall instead of just a number on the scale!
Hopefully everyone is doing well with their July goals! Keep pushing & keep up the great work. Even if you feel like you are slipping, don't give up! I ate so much junk food over my vacation, but I did a lot of exercise to make up it! In the end, I didn't gain any weight. Now I just need to keep exercising more often. The cooler weather will help me get outside, which is nice. I want to play tennis too! I need to take my pup for more walks too when it isn't as humid. Have a great week!
