Melatonin -- comment

Monday, July 22, 2013

Last week I was trying melatonin for sleep. It did seem to be helpful with no bad side effects.
However, I took it last night and this AM I woke up and was thinking of how many weird dreams that I had.

I didn't google it, but did come across someone else's blog where she indicated that it did cause her to have a lot of weird dreams......and another where it gave a spouse "nightmares."
Now, I can have nightmares and weird dreams all on my own, without melatonin.
So I cannot be sure that the weird dreams were caused by melatonin. I am just passing this info along for you to consider if you have thoughts about taking it.

Thanks for the information. I have considered trying this supplement but have not got around to it. If it helped you, I would not stop taking it based on one night of dreams. emoticon

lol lol I haven't started them yet...been so swamped between the kids and work that I have been going to bed on the spot. But, I got a feeling I will be taking them soon though ;)

Thanks for the heads up! I have crazy dreams sometimes regardless so it will be interesting to see if the melatonin makes me dream something else...thanks!

I saw on Dr. Oz that the side effect of Melatonin is bad dreams.

I have been using melatonin. I don't remember any dreams.
I don't think weird dreams would be a reason to stop something that helps you sleep. Dreams are a way of processing events in your life, like defragging your computer. IMHO.

I have never took this. Allot of things, have this side effect. You just have to ask yourself is taking it worth this? I am like you I have allot of strange dreams on my own, but they are only dreams, but you can't help to wonder why you dreamed them. Have a great day.
