Dunes and Refusing to worry.

Sunday, July 21, 2013

Well, I got a call last night from EvilCherub about going to the Dunes again this am. I went. Neither of us were in great shape but we are trying to get ready for the Warrior Dash next month. We were both tired but we got it done. We did a bit over 7 miles in just over 2 hours.

We also did breakfast at this great little place by the park. Best omelets EVER! And they serve really fresh fruit on the side. Yummy!

When I got home the car was gone. Now hubby is not supposed to be driving yet. I figured he went for milk and I would let him have it when he got home. Well, I'm still waiting. See, he went to work. He knows how bad we are hurting monetary wise and he doesn't get paid unless he works. So he went in today.

I want to be mad at him but I can't. I know I would have done the same thing. All I can do is sit back and hope he gets home ok. I'm not going to be upset with him. He is just trying to take care of us.

So, I'm just taking the day off. Relaxing in front of the idiot box and watching old movies. Noah Wyle is REALLY young in these Librarian movies. emoticon

Tomorrow, I have to work on my resume. I haven't done one in over 20 years. I have no idea what I am doing. Wish me luck.

If you send me a copy on sparkmail, I'd love to help edit. I got some pointers from some young pups on mine last time I got back in the game.

LOSIN_IT4GOOD 7/23/2013 2:05AM are so sweet to be that understanding with your hubby! Good luck with the resume, make sure to have friends look it over. Sometimes they see things in us that we don't, so that could be very helpful.

Try to have fun with the resume. If you haven't done one in four years, be sure to check on what people are looking for in them today. It's changed recently.

As for Noah Wyle, it's a big leap from Librarian to alien hunter.

Oh, I hope Hubby takes it easy! I understand, but would probably give mine a bit of a lecture! Glad you made it to the Dunes.... I know that is always good for you! There are good sites online to help you prepare a resume. I don't know how the pay would be or even if you would benefit from it, but I think you should work at PetSmart or PetCo or some other pet type place. You would be great! BTW, I hope we can take Sassy to her first class on Wednesday. This all depends on my husband's crazy job too! Augh! Our men and their jobs! Keeping your Hubby in my positive vibe line!

Glad you and EVILCHERUB went to the dunes and did 7 miles! Great job! Good luck on updating your resume. There are probably websites out there that give you tips on how to do your resume. I know you said you kind of know what you are doing but it might not hurt to google it.

Sorry your hubby felt like he had to go to work today. I can understand though wanting to be mad at him but can't because he's doing what he can to take care of you guys. Hope he got home safely and didn't hurt himself.

Love Noah Wyle in those. I can't believe the same guy is Tom Mason in Falling Skies.

Most of us probably would have gone in to work in a similar situation, I just wish he had let you drive him or gotten a ride. Let him have it, his health and recovery are the most important - but go easy because like you said, you'd have done the same.

We were watching those Librarian movies here too. They came on after the replay of last week's Falling Skies, which I had missed. Now I am all caught up and ready for tonight's episode.

Good for you on the 7 miles. Great job!

Hope hubby got home from work ok. He was just doing what he felt he needed to do.

Aw, I feel for him and I would have probably done the same thing. But I also understand your worry. Men can be so stubborn.

Let me know if you need help with your resume. I used to work for a company that helped displaced workers find new jobs, part of which involved helping them update their resumes.

Great job getting your 7 miles done--you are a warrior!
