This week was hot, high 90's low 100's here in the Central Valley of California. My back is still bothering me from the big move 2 weeks ago and it went out again on me 2 days ago as I was attempting to move a bed here at home. Got it moved, tried to stand up and felt like being stabbed in the back, knees buckled and I face planted into the bed. I'm just glad that I was moving a bed and not a dresser! The face plant would have been much less fun into a dresser.

Anyway, I've been staying seated for the most part, except at night when I go to the gym and walk on the treadmill for 45 minutes to 1 hour. It's about all I can do right now, so I'm doing that.

On to this weeks numbers:

Weight : 209.0
Lost : 1.0
Total : 108.2

Yay for another loss! I am now 1.8 lbs away from the goal that I set in April of 2011, 207.2. Once I reach that goal, I will be moving the goal further down the scale, probably to 195. I haven't been at that weight since I graduated high school, 25 years ago.

I think once I reach 195 I will attempt to do more strength training. I know, I know, "why aren't you doing more of that now", I can hear you collectively saying. I have done some ST off and on over the last 2 years, but physically, my body is old and everything hurts. I just want to get my weight as low as I can reasonably, first.

    Great job on the loss even with all the trouble you had this week!

Take care of yourself and try to do something that you really enjoy this week too. It can make you feel better even through the pain.

    Getting older is a bugger, isnt it??? I struggle to strength train too - I don't really want to, but I know I should, so it's real easy to come up with excuses for why I should skip....every day. I need to get in to the routine and 'just do it'.

Great job on the loss - especially if you're back is bothering you!! Walking is way better for your back than watching tv, so I'm really glad you can get out and walk some! Hope it feels better soon.

    Congrats on the loss.
I tend to shy away from strength training myself.... though the last few days, I shy away from most activity. :/ If you have an open mind to eastern medicine, maybe try reiki from someone who has a good following. Hope that back gets better soon.

    Well, you don't need to write more, cause you've said it all! emoticon Way to go on losing another pound, perseverance and patience, that's what it takes, and what I don't have. (But working on).
I'm sorry that you hurt your back, I know how that goes. I have two bulging discs in my lower back, and one in the neck, so I sympathize. I hope you feel better soon! emoticon

    Whoo hoo!!! Now that's what I'm talkin' bout!!! You rocked it!! Do well this week! But sad to hear about the back still being out. Hubby wears a back brace when lifting now. . He really needs to strengthen his back and lose the belly. . That's hard when driving a truck for 14 hours a day. . . . The bottom is the only thing that gets a workout!!!! Lol You might need a trip to the Doc. Take care of yourself!

    Firstly great work on the loss yay, secondly so sorry about the back--knowing what it's like once it does that you have done the right thing to just do the walking.

Face plants are best kept on soft landings!!!

Here is an exercise that may give some relief if you want to try it.

Lay on the 'offending bed' knees bent:) let the left knee slowly move to the mattress on the left! then let the right knee follow slowly keeping the shoulders on the bed. Repeat the other way.
Slowly. This one helps me realign the vertebrae. About 5 times slowly should really help.

I do them at night so I'm a bit looser before I go to sleep and in the morning I get a lot more movement.
