Aren't we supposed to REST on Sunday?

Sunday, July 21, 2013

I went to bed last night thinking "On Sunday, a Goddess my rest"! Well, awake at 8:15am, and up to help with the building again.

Dad had Patrick doing most of the work today because we were only supposed to unload the supplies and work on it throughout the week, a little at a time. Well, we ended up unloading the lumber that was in our truck, everything from Patrick's truck, and I got a little heated under the collar when Dad told me I couldn't bring the pressure washer into the back yard. HA!

Teach him to talk down to me in front of people again... my people, at that!

So I went to the trailer of everything they brought from the NY house and started unloading things so we could get the canned goods out. I was thinking that them being locked up in the heat is a really bad idea, so we have to go through every jar and make sure the tops hadn't popped. Then mom came and helped me, which guilted Dad into helping too! I am good at the guilt thing (learned it from Mom!).

So the trucks are all unloaded and out of the back yard so I could put the fence back up so the dogs were secure. They have had the run of the entire yard, which is a rare treat. Max posted up under my truck for an hour today and refused to come out; that is how rare a treat it is. He will stay out there until he gets so thirsty he comes to the door and scratches. Goodness, I love that silly dog!

The trailer is now half unloaded and we brought out box after box of jarred vegetables and now have to find a home for it all. It's like we are Doomsday Preppers, but when you live in a farm town and you come off the road and your entire fridge is loaded with corn and zucchini, you either can it or you lose it. So mom did a LOT of canning while in NY over the years.

And she found the BILL BOOK so now she can pay their bills! She's been trying to get to it for a week and Dad has been unmotivated with the horrid heat. We all have been unmotivated, but it sure is helping us lose weight! LOL

So we have had a super-duper healthy, work-filled weekend and have accomplished SO MUCH! And I am pretty proud of my family this weekend. We worked well together, with the exception of my hissy fit today, which I got over very quickly.

I hope you all had the chance to relax this weekend, or you had a wonderfully FIT weekend. I know I can appreciate the hard work if my body's strength is holding up and the scale is showing progress. Geesh, I feel so productive!! What shall I do with the rest of my day??

Peace and Love,
Angela

All that work in that heat?? You southerners are just a little bit crazy! But yes, wouldn't want the food out in it either. Good luck on finding storage space!
Enjoy your rest now, have a cold one!

Rest? Goodness, no! Summer is productive time around here too. Best time for building projects, only time for gardening, which means also best time for canning and preserving. Plus the routine animal care which goes on year-round. Rest? Maybe in November.
