A woman's work is never done...

Sunday, July 21, 2013

Hi Friends,

A woman's work is never done...

No truer words were ever said.

I stirred in bed this morning, not yet opening my eyes and laid there wondering what today holds. Of course thoughts go through your head; what did I do yesterday, what needs to be done today, etc etc. Before I even opened my eyes I decided I would do nothing today... absolutely nothing!

I deserve that on a Sunday, right? I run my business and work from 9 am till 11 pm every single night. I keep up with meals TRY to do laundry and cleaning as best as I can throughout the week... so why not? Everyone else in the house is doing nothing, of course that is their MO most of the time anyway unless I have them doing something... then they are moaning and complaining throughout what they are doing. But I figured if everyone else can pull off a day of nothing, so can I.

THEN I GOT UP...

Loads of laundry still in baskets needing to be put up... I sat there on the edge of the bed just looking at it, and also knowing that the laundry room holds yet another load or two that needs to be washed.

*thinking* Ok... oh well, I will get to it tomorrow, I JUST have to have a day off!

Got up, weighed in... only lost 1/2 pound this week... now I am not complaining, I am very happy to see the scale move in the right direction, HOWEVER, I know that it is because I could not find time to get to the gym this week, and my treadmill is holding a bunch of stuff we no longer have room for in the house, business related equipment... so even using the treadmill on the days I could not get to the gym is not possible. THAT needs to be cleaned up!

*thinking... still trying to hang onto my day off* I can probably get to that tomorrow, and that will seriously be my workout for the day since I have to move all that heavy stuff without the guys who both work tomorrow... (not a bad thought)...

Walking down the hall, I realized that my son's room really needs an overhaul, I had bought him the totes and a nice nightstand to kind of redo his room so he has more room and things are not so... EVERYWHERE...

*thinking* Well he can work on that while I work on the other room tomorrow, and I can just monitor what he's doing and we'll get them both done, no problem.

Slowly coming to the conclusion that I will have to set the answering machine for tomorrow to take the customer calls for me, I will NOT be getting anything done with taking customer calls too!

*thinking... I hate that... we lose the chance of sales when I have the answering machine take calls... not really any choice at this time, these things HAVE to be done*

Not to mention I am refusing to take note of the piles of paperwork I had planned to get through on Monday in the office... (I won't even get to that tomorrow for sure!)

*BIG sigh*

*deep breath* ...moving on to getting breakfast...

Stopped in the hall...

Bella's diaper needs changed, she stinks...
(our dog, who is in heat)
Backed up back to the bathroom, changed her diaper, cleaned her up, put another back on...

*back to breakfast...*

Stopped in the hall... AGAIN...

"My work clothes have to be washed before tomorrow hun, can you get those whites run for me?"

Loading the whites in the washer...
Search the house to make sure have them all...
Got them started...

*on to the kitchen*

The cucumbers pulled from the garden that I have been trying to get to for 4 days now to get canned as a cucumber/onion summer salad... YUM... met me first thing as I walked into the kitchen...

THIS IS WHERE I LOST IT...

Two were like water and VERY bad... I began to lose it, I had to wash all of them real fast before the bad juices made the others go bad, so before breakfast I am fixing to scrub cucumbers, knowing that I had to get them canned today no matter what if I was going to save them.

...dishes in the sink from last night...
...the dish washer is not even unloaded yet...
...trash is not taken out, no room for even one bad cucumber...

*GRRRRR*

Washed cucumbers, put them to dry on towel...
*will make breakfast and then begin on those...*
Emptied dishwasher, loaded dishwasher...
Pushed trash down... *it will have to be taken out VERY soon*

Went to make breakfast...
*GRRRRR*
Fruit in fridge that I meant to dehydrate into fruit snacks... going bad too!
Go through that, throw away what can't be used, soak in water what I will get going today...

FINALLY got breakfast done... at 11:30 am.

Sat here to log my food and vent...

I still have to find time to get my meals planned for the week, (I stay on my plan much better when I do that), and ALSO have to get to the store... heck, I may listen to the gripping and just send one of the guys to get what I need for the week... screw them, I am doing enough today, darn it!

A woman's work is never done...
No truer words ever said...

How am I suppose to find time for this and rest too?
I can't give up, I won't give up...
But how do I manage, something has to give... but what?

Well, back to my not-so-day-off day...

Only do the most important things. The world will not explode if the laundry is not done or put away. Saying no is a wonderful gift to ourselves.

Just do the absolute must dos...if not done will create an emergency must dos, get your home dwellers to help themselves...which in turn will help you...tell them no if ands or buts accepted...sometimes you MUST do what's right for YOU...keep up your menu planning...it DOES REALLY WORK!!!
