Brought Lancelot home for the week end

Sunday, July 21, 2013

As you can see I brought my Lancelot home for the weekend. If you look close you can see his catheter in his little paw. He still isn't eating but will drink a little water. The vet said that all 5 vets see him as their challenge. They are not sure what is wrong with him but the do not think it's the bacteria on the teeth. They are now thinking pancreas and might do exploratory surgery to do a biopsy on his pancreas. We will see. Even though it is Sunday, they want me to bring him in for a shot today. But I am happy that at least he doesn't seem in pain. I just wish he would eat something. He won't even lick up tuna juice which he used to love. I will check with vet to see if they do feeding tubes with cats to at least get nutrients in them. Not sure how long a cat can go without eating but it's been a week or over.

I had a nice time at the reception for my Mexican friend's wedding. I was lucky and could even eat some of the food there. Had though to be where there is alcohol and not be able to have some beer or champagne....but it's more important that I stay healthy. I stayed only 3 hours as I was anxious to get home and cuddle with Lance. Oh and funny thing, his sister, Guinevere won't have anything to do with him...she is hissing and making a fuss and now hides from him. They used to always be together in a "pile of cat" but now it's like they don't know each other.

So today I will walk the dogs, take Lance for his shot and then cuddle and watch old movies with Lancelot.

My girlfriend is home from the hospital. My DH took her husband to pick her up. She is still not diagnosed but hated the hospital and wanted to come home. I will check in with them and see if there is anything I can do. Personally, I think her life style is catching up with her. She is also a person that does the Atkins diet but drinks a lot. I think the combination of the two things might give her problems. But she is very strong headed and you can't really tell her anything as she knows it all. I know you all know folks like that.

Hope you all have a terrific day today.

I bet his sis doesn't want anything to do with him cause he SMELLS different, you know that disinfectant hospital smell and or/ a different body odor from the IVs solution
He looks pissed in the first photo like maybe he didn't want his photo take?

So glad you have Lance back. Please, check this out and show it to your vet. It has pulled 2 of our cats back when they were not eating.

Glad Lance is home with you and that you've had time to cuddle with him. I know what you mean about your friend. My sis - 10 years younger - knows everything six months before I knew it! Don't even ask me how that's possible. Of course, she is still topping out at 190 while insisting that she eats right and exercises.

You and Lance are in my thoughts and prayers!

I am glad you have Lancelot for the weekend. That might just perk him up. I pray that they find an answer for your little man. **SIGH** So hard to see them ill. I know dogs can go longer with the no eating than no drinking. So, it's good that at least Lance is drinking some water.

Good luck, my dear. HUGS and prayers.

OH, glad you got to go to the reception and I 100% agree -- NOTHING is worth it if it robs you of your health!
