What a Week!

It seems like this week has flown by and I'm happy to report another three pounds lost. Go me! This week was an uphill battle with all sorts of mishaps, such as: fainting and getting injured, air conditioner going out and government furloughs. My fainting incident, I must admit, was my own fault, as I accidently took an extra dose of one of my medications and it causes my blood sugar to drop and my stomach to be upset. That coupled with lack of calories and too much walking equated to me passing out in the yard. I'm very grateful for my next door neighbor who called the ambulance. While I'm fine now, I ended up with lots of cuts/abrasions on my face, arms and knees. However, it hasn't stopped me from getting in my daily steps.
I'm loving my Fitbit One. When I ordered it, I wasn't sure whether or not I would find it overly useful, but now it's pretty much attached to me 24/7. I can say that this little piece of technology is definitely helping me improve my health and well-being. I actually look forward to walking and have set up little goals for myself each week. I'm sure some would it odd, but I compete with myself each and every day to see how much farther I can walk on my hiking trail, or how many more calories I can burn by walking 10 minutes more. I'm amazed at the calories I burn each and every day. I feel more motivated, energetic and overall more healthy with each passing week, as I continue on my weight loss journey.
I've set up monthly goals for myself, so that I continue to strive and stay motivated. I know these little challenges will give me something to forward to and something that will keep me focused. I said I wanted to lose 50lbs by November, and I've already lost 18 of that. I'm making sure my goals are realistic and if I surpass them...well...woot woot. Looking forward to seeing how well I do this week and hopefully I have no mishaps. The AC is getting fixed tomorrow, so I'll be able to use the elliptical again. Right now, it's just too hot in my house to be using any of the fitness machines. Trying to stay positive!
